It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

I am taking time to read up on children's literature online this summer. I have learned so much! Who knew there were so many experts?

Goodreads has been a great place to read book reviews and to organize what I'm reading. Now, today I discovered the meme It's Monday! What are you Reading?, this version especially for picture books through young adult books.

Teachers (and other children's lit lovers) write blog posts to share what they have read lately and what they plan to read next. I wrote my first post here, and I've been reading lots of other posts today! My to-read list is growing!

Go to the latest post and scroll down to the bottom for the Linky Widget with links to the 50 people who posted today. You will be amazed at the incredible wealth of resources available--and that's just today!

  1. Denise, I JUST finished listening to "A Long Way from Chicago" by Richard Peck. Fab.u.lous! Great one to LISTEN to as well to get the accents and voices of the older people in the story. Each chapter is kind of like the story he told at the conference about the grandmother who told those lies to the reporter. I really do think I'll add it to my read aloud pile for next year!
    Have a great week!

PS-Anyone with a library card in Iowa can "check out" audio books or e-books from http://wilbor.lib.overdrive.com It takes a little technical know-how, but it's free and a great resource! That's where I found this title and downloaded it to my iPod.

    1. Nancy,
I read that one too! I loved it. It will be the book for intermediate students at the Global Read Aloud in October. Read more about it here.

      Are you planning to participate?
